"The Hat I Got for Christmas Is Too Beeg" is a Christmas novelty song performed by Mel Blanc, using the Mexican accent he'd first established on radio, using the slower and more morose delivery from The Judy Canova Show (Pedro) and The Jack Benny Program (Sy) rather than the more rapid (and often sped up) version used for Speedy Gonzales. The singer laments the oversized sombrero which Santa Claus gave him for Christmas and the problems it causes. One of Blanc's many recordings for Capitol Records, the orchestra is directed by Billy May.
The track was used on Sam and Friends on December 29, 1958.[1] The song was used again on December 28, 1959, with Harry the Hipster explaining it was performed by "Pancho Kermit"[2] (the B side of the record, performed by Blanc as the same character and co-written by him, was titled "Pancho's Christmas.")
