
The Huntley-Brinkley Report is an evening news program that aired on NBC from 1956 to 1970. It was anchored by Chet Huntley in New York City, and David Brinkley in Washington, D.C.

- The program was parodied in one of the surviving segments of Sam and Friends. Using audio from a broadcast of the show, Hank and Frank lipsynch dialogue spoken by Huntley and Brinkley in response to original dialogue remarks by Kermit.
- In the September 20, 1960 edition of Sam and Friends, Kermit plays a newsman and hopes to further his career, claiming an eventual TV show will be "Huntley, Brinkley, and Kermit."[1]
- In the Sam and Friends episode broadcast on Election Night 1960, the gang's ICBM computer predicts the winner of the Presidential race will be Huntley and Brinkley.[2]
- The Two-Headed Muppet Monster occasionally would break out their impression of Walter Cronkite doing his impression of Huntley and Brinkley, in which both heads say "Goodnight, Walter" to the other.
- In Episode 1197 of Sesame Street, Big Bird says goodnight to Luis and David, then jokingly throws in a "Goodnight, Chet."
