The Jimmy Dean Show
Dean-123b
Air Date March 5, 1964
Guests Dorothy Collins, Boots Randolph, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Manna
Streaming RFD-TV Country Club

Rowlf the Dog appears apple bobbing during the opening number, "Glad Rags."

Later, Rowlf strums "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain" on Jimmy Dean's guitar, accidentally breaking it. When Jimmy queries him, Rowlf tries blaming termites and then guest Dorothy Collins. Jimmy tries to force the truth out of him with the story of noted truth-teller George Washington (who did not blame termites or Hank Williams Jr.) Rowlf is not surprised that Washington's father forgave him: "Who wouldn't forgive him? Kid was standing there with an axe in his hand!"

Jimmy tries to educate Rowlf on Washington and the generals he fought (Rowlf assumes on account of those sissy clothes he wears in the portraits). Rowlf also questions why Washington went to Valley Forge instead of Miami. Jimmy tells him there was no Miami then. In a callback to a similar history session in the eleventh episode, Rowlf insists "There was always a Miami" to the crowd's cheers. Jimmy clarifies that there were no hotels then. "Where did you get into your bathing suit?" "You didn't." Rowlf assumes this means everyone went into the pool naked: "Now I know what they mean by the good old days."

Jimmy yanks Rowlf back to the historical tale, though he stops to make a joke about how George couldn't get his washing done. Jimmy explains that Washington became President of the United States due to his honesty. The two sing "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie," but Rowlf's clapping cracks Jimmy up. After the song, Rowlf says George Washington broke the guitar, before finally confessing ("How am I doing, Georgie?")
