The first of three consecutive broadcasts from Hollywood, instead of New York City as usual, has caused Rowlf to "go Hollywood." Clad in sunglasses, a cravat, and a beret, Rowlf assures the audience he is not Rock Hudson. "I'm more on the David Niven type. Or more on the Tony Curtis type. Or maybe more on the moron type." (An off-screen Jimmy Dean says "Yeah" to that last one). Rowlf praises Hollywood as stimulating, invigorating, and "a glorious mixture of countless unknown ingredients." (He copied it off a can of dog food).

Rowlf tells Jimmy he ran into Sophia Loren, who Jimmy calls "Italy's Elizabeth Taylor." But Rowlf brings up the one gal in Hollywood who makes them both look like Crazy Guggenheim: Lassie. Rowlf hopes to prove himself worthy of Lassie by becoming a movie star himself. He took a screen test and was compared to Jack Lemmon: "In Rowlf, we have another lemon." Jimmy is a bit irked at the thought of Rowlf leaving his show for pictures. Rowlf asks if Jimmy was ever in love: "I was up to my ears in love, and that's a lot of love" (and a lot of ears, Rowlf quips). After some further joking about which type Rowlf should be, the phone rings, with a barking voice: Lassie! Rowlf answers and starts talking baby talk, referring to himself as "Rowlfy Wolfy": "It's nauseating, but they eat it up." Lassie tells him "Woof woof." Translated, this means she loves Rowlf the way he is and doesn't want him to become a movie star, she wants Rowlf to stay with Jimmy, and she'll be visiting the show next week. "She said all that in woof woof?" "Well, she barks in short-hand." Rowlf's tender response: "Bowsy wowsy" (cracking Jimmy up). This is the cue for a variation of "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" devoted to Lassie.
