- One of several video games Baby Gonzo plays in the Muppet Babies episode "It's Only Pretendo" parodies The Legend of Zelda as "The Legend of Imelda: The Quest for the Golden Key." Gonzo plays the Link role, accompanied in-game by Baby Piggy, both of whom wear outfits loosely inspired by game characters. The beginning of their journey to find the golden key is shown in a wide shot of a road map that emulates the top-down perspective from the game. They travel through various swamps and villages by way of tubes that instantly transport them from one area to another, and battle various enemies that dissolve into thin air when struck.
- Gonzo referenced playing the game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom during his appearance at the 2023 Game Awards. His favorite part of the game was following the Cucco (the Zelda species of chickens) up the hill, so much so that he kept restarting the mission to see if he could get a slower time.
- In the song "The Game Awards Will Never Let You Down" (performed at the 2025 Game Awards), Rowlf the Dog mentions The Legend of Zelda during a rapid listing of video games.
