The Man in the Moon

In some cultures, people believe that some of the moon's dark spots and craters create a pattern that resembles a human face when the moon is full, which they call The Man in the Moon. In literature and art he is more frequently depicted as a real face on drawn onto the moon, or even as a person who lives in the moon.

The Man in the Moon appears in the Mother Goose Stories episode "Man in the Moon."

Other versions

• Grover also encountered the Man in the Moon in Astro-Grover, a 1987 computer game. In the game, players help Grover to count Zips from the planet Zap. If the count is incorrect, the Man in the Moon shakes his head and encourages the player to try again.

• In 2006, Peter Weck appeared as the Man in the Moon during Sesamstrasse Episode 2356.
