In Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a creature that was part man and part bull. It dwelt in the Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction built for King Minos of Crete and designed by the architect Daedalus to hold the Minotaur. The Minotaur was eventually killed by Theseus.
The Minotaur was featured in The StoryTeller: Greek Myths adaptations of "Daedalus and Icarus" and "Theseus and the Minotaur."
A model for the Minotaur was seen in The Jim Henson Hour episode "Secrets of the Muppets" when Jim Henson and Jojo visit Jim Henson's Creature Shop.
