Season Four as advertised at D23 in 2009

The Muppet Show: Season Four is an unreleased DVD set collecting all the episodes of the fourth season of The Muppet Show.

The set was announced at the 2009 D23 Expo to be released sometime in 2010, but the product has not since been produced. Season Three was released in May of 2008.

In a publicity interview for The Muppets, mega-fan Walter pleads on-camera with Disney to release seasons four and five of The Muppet Show (video attached).

At a panel with Steve Whitmire, Kermit the Frog, and Debbie McClellan at Dragon Con in 2015, a fan asked why the last two seasons of The Muppet Show haven't been released yet. Kermit replied, "I know. Send your complaints to Disney." McClellan explained that not only do the music rights have to be cleared, but the musicians who are still alive have to be paid too. She also said that they want people to keep asking about the last two seasons of The Muppet Show, because they want to release them. [cite]

In 2021, over eleven years after the initial D23 announcement, all five seasons of The Muppet Show were made available for streaming on Disney+. Of the season four episodes included, all but one is uncut; the Disney+ release of Episode 415: Anne Murray omits the musical number "Dancing on the Ceiling."
