Finale getaway[]
The closing scene of the movie, following the wedding finale, was originally planned to feature a car driving down the church aisle to whisk the newlyweds away into the New York City night sky. In addition to the Sesame Street Muppets (seen in the movie), a cast of "out of town guests" were meant to appear including E.T., the San Diego Chicken mascot, Smokey Bear, Gumby, Topo Gigio, Howdy Doody, Ollie, Darth Vader, a Skeksis, Kira, Jen, Punch and Judy, and Yorick. When Dr. Teeth asks how they got the car to fly, the camera cuts to a giggling Yoda. The scene was meant to be shot in Los Angeles, but was cut before filming.[1]
