The New Statesman is a sitcom that aired on ITV from 1987 to 1994 spanning four seasons and three specials. The series satirizes the UK's Conservative Party from the late 80s/early 90s.

Jim Henson's Creature Workshop (sic) was credited on screen for Special Effects Mask in "Who Shot Alan B'Stard?", the 1990 special that aired between the second and third seasons.

A dream sequence in the special involves Piers Fletcher-Dervish (played by Michael Troughton, son of former Doctor Who star Patrick Troughton) having his face torn away from his skull by the zombie Alan B'Stard (Rik Mayall). The effects included the flesh being pulled and stretched until it is removed, revealing his muscle structure beneath.
