DEBUT | 1978 |
The Rhymies are a trio of Anything Muppets with shaggy hair who appeared in two Sesame Street sketches in season 9 and season 11 respectively.
Their names were Larry (made from a Lavender Anything Muppet), Mary (made from a Green Anything Muppet), and Barry (made from a Fat Blue Anything Muppet). While Mary and Larry had positive attitudes, Barry often complained (which sometimes got the other two annoyed).
In their season 9 appearance, Jerry Nelson performed Mary, Richard Hunt performed Larry, and Jim Henson performed Barry. When they appeared again in season 11, the performers were switched up to Bob Payne as Mary, Frank Oz as Larry, and Jerry Nelson as Barry.
