The Sad Family, from Miserable Falls, Colorado, are contestants in Guy Smiley's game show "Happiness Begins at 40." They enter the studio crying dramatically, but grandly, when counting to 40, they become happier once again.
The father is played by Jerry Nelson and the mother by David Rudman. The son, Sandy, is performed by Richard Hunt, and the daughter, Sally, by Camille Bonora.
