The Salzburg Sauerkraut Singers are a quartet of pigs that sang a mock-German song called "Drinking Song" while throwing sauerkraut in episode 517 of The Muppet Show. Statler and Waldorf originally intended their slot to go to visiting members of the Berlin National Opera Company, who cancel and sends the pigs in their stead.
They were performed by Brian Muehl, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt and Dave Goelz. Behind the scenes footage of the song was seen in the documentary Of Muppets and Men, with Steve Whitmire replacing Muehl as one of the puppeteers during the song.
Salzburg is a city in Austria, rather than Germany, but it does indeed serve sauerkraut.
