The Sesame Street Players Present Peter and the Wolf is part of a series of Sesame Street books designed to introduce children to music concepts. In this book, the Sesame characters present the story of Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
Grover stars as Peter, and Cookie Monster is the hungry wolf. Gladys the Cow displays her dramatic talents as the duck (in this case, only duck's new hat gets eaten, rather than the duck herself). Also in the cast are Bert (the bird), Elmo (the cat), Oscar the Grouch (Grandfather) and three Honkers (the hunters). Prairie Dawn acts as the narrator, and Big Bird conducts the orchestra.
