Ruthie is unable to get Alice Snuffleupagus to wake up from her nap. Her big brother Snuffy tells her the only way this can be accomplished is a special song that wakes her up one body part at a time, as well as gets her dancing with a repeated "wake-up-a-gus" chorus. According to Snuffy, his father is usually the one to sing it.
