The Wakey Show is a Japanese daily kids program co-produced by Sesame Workshop that premiered on NHK on March 31, 2025, with 210 20-minute episodes produced for the year. The show is hosted by the titular DJ teddy bear and features a variety of short segments.[1] The series does not hide the puppeteers for its original puppet characters.
Elmo features in a weekly segment on the show, "Elmo's Likes It Rap," where real children express themselves through rap songs. Cookie Monster and Julia also appear. Twenty-two three minute segments were produced for the season.[2]
On August 23, 2025, a live recording of the show was held at Saitama Super Arena as part of the Kodomo Mannaka Kids Festival.[3] Rapper Machee Def appeared alongside Elmo and Cookie Monster at the event.[4]
