In this season 11 Sesame Street sketch (which would premiere the following season), Kermit the Frog goes to a T-shirt shop, The Wonderful World of T-Shirts, to pick up another personalized "Kermit the Frog" T-shirt. The T-Shirt Salesman pulls out a shirt that reads "Kermit the Gorf." Kermit thinks this is a mistake and gets upset, but then a customer named Kermit the Gorf comes in asking for his shirt.
The T-Shirt Salesman continues to bring out T-shirts with more "misspellings" of Kermit the Frog's name, which all end up belonging to other customers, continually frustrating Kermit. The salesman finally checks up on Kermit the Frog's order, and is told it will not be ready until Thursday. An aggrieved Kermit promptly faints.
Notes[]
- The word "forg" previously appered in The Muppet Show episode 314 with Kermit introducing himself as "Kermit the Forg" while reading off Fozzie's poorly-typed script. The word "Gorf" reappeared in The Jim Henson Hour episode 101 with the character Timrek the Gorf of The Teppums whose names are all backward versions of familiar Muppet characters.
