  • I just noticed on Robin's wiki page, it says Matt Vogel performed him from 2008 to 2017. I know Peter Linz performed him in the Hollywood Bowl show, but is there any way we can confirm that Vogel isn't performing him anymore?

    • It should've been discussed before making that change, I guess it slipped under our radars.

In this interview from a few weeks ago, Linz states that he performs Robin currently. So, while we have an official source, it's only been for one production thus far.

    • Okay, that's helpful. So, should we put Peter as the primary performer for Robin, or is that not necessary yet?

    • Our normal practice is that we only change the performer box when the new performer has consistently played the character over time and it's clear that the recast is permanent, but occasionally if there's enough confirmation in advance, we'll decide to make that change. By the way, Linz's puppeteer bio for the Season 48 press kit also notes that he's taken over Robin and other Muppet roles of late.

    • Alright, I'll be fine with waiting. I just didn't think Peter performed him that many times to make him the official performer. I remembered that policy, though, which is why I wasn't so sure.

    • Could we add Peter to Statler's page? He probably performed him at least as much as he had Ernie when he was added to that page (and unlike Billy Barkhurst, it's been confirmed that Steve Whitmire is no longer a current performer.)

    • Is it safe to say that he is now the performer for Robin, Statler, Lips and Link Hogthrob? This is what it says in his twitter profile? According to wikipedia he also performs Rizzo Rat now? but idk if thats true?

    • Wikipedia is usually unreliable and a lot of unsourced information gets through, which is why we don't use it as a source. So for the latter, no, for that reason and because Rizzo has made no speaking appearances since Steve's departure.

As noted above, we add a recast performer in the infobox when it's established that they are the new permanent performer; which our policies and guidelines notes is after an extended period over multiple productions, and there's only been so many Muppet things to come out in the past three years. At the same time, there have been at least a few performer bios (The Jim Henson Retrospectacle, the Sesame press kits) which mention the recast roles, so I guess a case can be made for that, but we'd still need a majority consensus.
