This page is a crude reconstruction of an old thread that had been formerly housed at Special:Forum.
In October 2020, our host retired the feature in favor of an off-site discussion tool that the Muppet Wiki community opted not to use (Forum:Index is our preferred community messaging system as its mechanics are compatible with Special:WhatLinksHere and other MediaWiki functionality, while the replacement is not).
When our host retired the feature, hundreds of important conversations about wiki policy were hidden. However, threads from Special:Forum exist in our database archives and, when possible, an attempt will be made to reconstruct notable conversations that are required as documentation of how we came to consensus on various issues on the wiki, why and how we made decisions on how to organize, and other announcements that were important to the growth of the wiki.
To access the contributor of a particular post, 1) determine which "Board Thread" is associated with the comment in the code of this page, 2) find the corresponding link here, and 3) view that comment's edit history. Please note that the posts rendered as follows may be out of chronological order.
As I've been working on the Bear in the Big Blue House guides, I've noticed a surprisingly large number of discrepencies regarding the air dates of the first three seasons. Season 4 seems to be fine, but numerous supposed air dates from previous seasons conflict with production information I've obtained through a private source.
For example, this Wiki says "I Built That!" premiered on 02/27/1998, but my source proves the episode wasn't finished until at least 07/20/1998. Additionally, Season 2 didn't premiere until June 8th .
Obviously we need to find a better reference as to when these episodes originally aired. How should we go about doing that? I've looked through numerous newspaper listings, but have only been able to pinpoint a select few premieres. I removed the entire Bear section on that page for now and added a link to its history in the notes at the bottom of Sandbox:Bear in the Big Blue House air dates. We can add that table back once we figure out the proper Bear airdates. —User:Scarecroe
I would suggest starting with a sandbox page tracking the ones you think / can confirm aren't correct, thus allowing yourself and others to find alternate sources. —User:Oscarfan
I guess it makes sense to publish the production dates I have too, so that way we have a reference point for the earliest possible airdates. —User:CDCB2

I went through the episode pages for Seasons 2 and 3 and tried to remove all the airdates that have been proven impossible. Most of the incorrect dates still remain on this page though -- how do we want to handle that? —User:CDCB2
Added a note about the date Season 2 finished filming. It doesn't necessarily confirm anything we didn't already know about the air dates, but it does offer a general window as to how long the editing process took. Still a little more info to fill in (mainly, specific episodes that were filmed that day) -- expect it shortly! —User:CDCB2
Found listings in the Daily Citizen that indicate "I Gotta Be Me" and "Afraid Not" aired on August 15 and 16, 1998 respectively. The production date I have indicates the episodes were completed less than two weeks prior (August 3). Is it safe to assume these are the original premieres unless proven otherwise? —User:CDCB2
