Fixing disambigs, adding links, spaces, and the other stuff you do is useful but not when it gets in the way of larger page building. I know you usually make quick small edits. If you really feel you'll miss the change if you wait later, bookmark the page for yourself to get back to.
And if I leave a message saying "Wait before working on this page I'm working on," after saying you'll try, don't make your next edit on that very page. (Checking the time stamps, one minute after you replied to my suggestion of a 20 to 30 minute wait if the editor is still active.)
