Tonyprice

Tony Price is a tuba player who performed occasionally for Sesame Street and its albums. Most notably, in the 1981 album Big Bird Discovers the Orchestra, Price played for the tuba player Booba, soloing on the song "Oom-Pah-Pah."

Price has performed with the band on Saturday Night Live and on the soundtrack for the film of The Wiz. On albums, he backed Bo Diddley (on Big Bad Bo), Don Sebesky (the 1973 album Giant Box), Buddy Rich, Wynton Marsalis, and Liza Minnelli. He arranged the 1976 album Tubby's Revenge, featuring Price and other members of the New York Tuba Quartet.
