Topo Gigio was a puppet mouse character from an Italian and Spanish children's television series of the 1960s. He is best known to American audiences from his more than fifty appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show.
The puppet is manipulated by three puppeteers against a black backdrop, is 10'' tall, and made from foam rubber. His popularity is so great, that he was named number 23 on Animal Planet's 50 Greatest TV Animals.
