A Tumbleweed was interviewed by Elmo in the Elmo's World episode "Flowers, Plants & Trees." After a Cactus informs Elmo that he doesn't need a lot of water, the Tumbleweed rolls by to tell Elmo that there are lots of plants in the desert that don't need a lot of water.
In Sesame Street Episode 4183, the Tumbleweed (performed again by D'Abruzzo) gets stuck to the Cactus in the story "Maria the Cowgirl: The Lonesome Trail."
