A series of underwater counting segments debuted on Sesame Street in season 23.
Each segment stars a multicolored fish, performed by Kevin Clash, typically combing the sea to count the aquatic life around him. The puppet would later be used in international co-productions (including Sesamstraat) and made a cameo in episode 4632.
The music score in each segment was composed by Jamie Lawrence.[1] Other puppeteers in the series include Joey Mazzarino, David Rudman and Rick Lyon.[2]
The lead fish seen on Sesamstraat in Ieniemienie's song "Ik word Duiker" (I Will Be a Diver).
