Unwelcome to Grouchland is a 1999 Sesame Street storybook that ties in with the film The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
Grizzy wants to give the reader a tour of Grouchland, but there's lots of smog in the way. Elmo helps the reader blow all the smog away. When the smoke clears, Grizzy introduces her doll, Soggypants.
Grizzy shows off the crowded streets of Grouchland, and Elmo helps the reader make traffic noises. Everyone holds their nose as they approach the dump, and Grizzy asks for help waking up the Grouch who keeps the mudhole wet. Grizzy and Elmo swing on the banged-up old swing set in the playground, and then look in at the Inconvenience Store and the Ugly Parlor.
They stop by Sloppo Car Wash, where Grouches get their cars muddied, and they annoy a Grouch police officer. They bang on some Grouches' trash cans on Stinkweed Street, and watch Grouch kids buy ice cream from the Bad Humor Man. Grizzy offers Soggypants for a kiss as she tells the reader to "Have a rotten day!"
