"Up on the Housetop" (sometimes "Up on the Rooftop") is a Christmas song about Santa Claus and his reindeer landing on the roof. It has been recorded countless times, notably by Gene Autry, Andy Williams, the Jackson 5, Reba McEntire, Pentatonix, and Chris Pine as Spider-Man.
Elmo, Rosita, Zoe, Cookie Monster, and Grover performed the song as the finale of the Sesame Place stage show Elmo's Christmas Wish.
A version with Muppetized lyrics appears in the "Muppet Carols" section of the 1999 book A Very Muppet Christmas, and the lyrics appear in Elmo's Christmas Picture Puzzles & Songs.
The tune has been used for at least two sound books including Sing-Along Holiday Songs and Holiday Sing-Along.
The song can also be heard with various pieces of merchandise including a Gemmy Industries animated figure in 2006, an American Greetings ornament in 2011, and a Gund plush doll in 2013.
