Meet the Classics
Hi, Enter! (Do you have a first name I can call you?) Just wanted to say thanks for all the character info you've been adding from the Meet the Classics books. Good stuff! —Scott (talk) 11:51, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Mr. Hanson, my name is Katie. I'm just a college kid who picked up the book for some dumb fun before finals. It's really flattering to get feedback and, in some little way, be part of one of my favorite wikis. Enter Username Here (talk) 12:56, 6 December 2021 (UTC) - Katie
Hi, Katie! Always nice to see someone taking an interest in our literary pages. Here's some tips on how to add to connections, though. It's linked to from one of our policy pages, Muppet Wiki:Coverage, but you may not have got to that yet given your contribution interests, so here's a direct link, and the relevant portion: "Short versions of character names are fine and in fact preferred, but unless it's just not confirmable (or they played say six minor characters over multiple seasons), it helps to specify what role a person had. Additional 'so and so's estranged sister' or whatever aren't needed."
So while we note counterparts when played *by* Muppets in something (because we give full coverage to anything Muppet), it's okay to just say who an actor played without additional adjectives or specifying either who it's a version of or that they're not in the source. Generally, stick to what's used in the credits or dialogue. It *is* helpful to specify an episode/production title if it differs from the source story, though. You've added a bunch of useful info, but it just needs pruning a tad. Thanks so much! Anthology shows in particular are harder to go through sometimes, so I appreciate your handling this! -- Andrew 23:07, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
Back to the Rock
Hi Katie! Just wanted to say thanks for all the new info you've been adding about Back to the Rock. It's a great feeling to see everyone excited about a new Muppet thing and getting into deep wiki coverage. So, thanks! —Scott (talk) 13:28, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Mr. Hanson! It's nothing, really, just a few sentences on the pages for the legacy songs. The harder work is going to be the dozens of new pages for all the new elements the show introduced, which is probably better left to more qualified people who better understand wiki editing (case in point, my little wrestling match with the Rolling Stone hyperlink on the "Fraggle Rock Rock" page). - Katie (talk) 13:50, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- Do not undersell yourself! I think you're doing just fine. One tip that might help you if you're struggling with formatting: before clicking the SAVE CHANGES button, you can see what it will look like by clicking SHOW PREVIEW. It's a pretty handy feature. Don't worry about mistakes, we were all learning our way around wikis once. —Scott (talk) 13:52, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
