Muppet Wiki

Hi, welcome to Muppet Wiki, and thanks for your contributions!

Please take some time to look over our FAQ and Guidelines at Special:Community. This is required reading for your participation here. For your convenience and future reference, this is also linked under the EXPLORE menu at the top of every article.

If you see that your first edits on the wiki were removed, an explanation may have been left in the article's edit history. Please feel free to leave a message here if there's anything you need help with.

Thank you! β€”Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 23:38, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi. The Two G Sounds page already has a picutre of the segment. One main image is sufficient. When an administrator changes or removes your edit, please do not re-add and engage in edit-war behavior. It would probably help to focus your attention to something else on the Wiki, and also read Muppet Wiki:Image Policy for our guidelines on uploading images. Please leave a response so I know you've read these messages and understand. Thanks. β€” Jon latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 23:58, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
I added it because it was in the Special:Withoutimages category, I want to know if it broke any other image guidelines for the future. Tellymustard (talk) 00:15, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
The page has auto-generated results which include various pages that have a sole image within a template. I'll chat with other admins about this problem and see if we can fix it.
Also, breaking guidelines is only an issue if it happens repeatedly and deliberately. You can help clear misunderstandings by communicating, so thank you for doing so now. Select guidelines that I would mention now is to code image thumbnails no smaller than 300 pixels, as demonstrated here, and uploading screenshots that don't have large dimensions, per here. β€” Jon latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 00:47, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for citing Limbo on Carson

Hey there. I had just added the cite tag to Limbo's appearance on Carson recently, so I'm glad you pointed us in the right direction. I have that CD at home where I can double check and make sure the source is correct. I wouldn't have though to check there, so thanks! β€”Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 11:21, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

your welcome - Tellymustard (talk) 18:39, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

A few things

Hi again. Echoing Scott's previous message, I appreciate you filling in some holes and pointing our attention to some pages we don't always check. Just wanted to bring up a couple more pointers. One is to check that your "Preferred editor" in preferences is set to Source editor, as visual edits aren't ideal and can break pages. Also, as I noted in an earlier message, image thumbnails should be 300 pixels and are to be coded using this markup...

Also, what should we call you? We like to know and contact Wiki users on a first-name basis, so do you prefer to be called Telly or another name? Thanks again for your help. β€” Jon latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 19:19, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

my name is Luke Tellymustard (talk) 19:36, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Cool, thanks Luke! β€” Jon latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 19:41, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

two or three weeks

Hi Luke. In this edit, you changed Inches' quote from three weeks to two weeks. I know you added newspaper links showing differently, but we can't change a person's words. If there's a correction to be made, it needs to be handled differently. β€”Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 11:09, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

I just had some more time to look at your additions. It appears that you misunderstood the sources you were citing. So, what you stated as a correction of the Red Book and the biography was incorrect. I made the appropriate adjustments which you can see in the article's history. Please let me know if you have any questions. β€”Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 21:43, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
sorry I didn't notice at first that that was a quote I was changing. I don't really have any questions, except have you ever seen even a small mention of Pierre the French rat's friend anywhere else, it seems odd to me that his only mention anywhere would be 1 picture and caption in Jim Hensons red book with no other acknowledgment. - Tellymustard (talk) 20:47, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

photos of people

Hi Luke. Where did you get the photo of Joyce Clements? β€”Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 20:10, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

I got it from her obituary. - Tellymustard (talk) 23:41, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
What's your source that that's the same woman? β€”Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 23:43, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
looks like it does not seem to be the same womanTellymustard (talk) 23:59, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Right. Please be sure to read over Muppet Wiki:Sources and don't be afraid to ask questions. β€”Scott latest?cb=20200820192427 (talk) 00:01, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
