German translation of the Valhalla album "Thor's Wedding"; page 39
Valhalla is a Danish comic book series offering an alternative, humorous take on the Norse gods. As with other European comic books, they were published as individual self-contained albums (but with continuing characters and themes) rather than issues. The series began in 1979 and the final entry was published in 2009. The comics have been translated into many languages and adapted into a 1986 animated feature, as well as a 2009 live-action film.
Muppet Mentions[]
The second album, Thor's Wedding, caricatured Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem as the wedding band for one panel: specifically, versions of Floyd Pepper on harp, Animal (looking almost identical) on drums, Zoot on a pipe, Dr. Teeth on keyboard, and sitting in, Rowlf the Dog (here more bear-like) on piano. The Muppet likenesses are combined with aspects of mythological creatures like trolls. In the original Danish and in some European translations, they sing "She is so young and so beautiful." In the English translation, the band is singing "Here comes the bride, all dressed in white."
