WCAU is the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania TV station broadcasting locally for NBC. During the 1970s and 80s, they aired The Muppet Show in first-run syndication during their time as a CBS affiliate.
Muppet Mentions[]
WCAU contracted animation company Klein& to produce marketing campaigns and station identification logos for their programming. One station ID for their broadcast of The Muppet Show in 1980 featured an animated Miss Piggy voiced by an unidentified actor. After the logo appears on screen, accompanied by a chorus who sings "10 is...," the Piggy facsimile enters the screen, kisses the 10, and exclaims, "It's The Muppet Show!" She leaves behind a lipstick mark on the 10 and the Kermit head variation of The Muppet Show logo in pink.
