Waldo Woodpecker is a feathered friend of Big Bird's who appears in Episode 0574 of Sesame Street.
When Big Bird needs to find an avian food source other than birdseed, Waldo shows him how some birds such as himself peck at old wood to find bugs to dine on. Big Bird ends up hurting his beak trying to imitate this.
Waldo is seen later in the episode, when Big Bird has decided to open a co-op store for birds that provides him with all the birdseed he could ever need. Waldo appears as a return customer, bringing in some birdseed for a can of bugs.
Waldo also appears in Episode 0634 where he visits Big Bird at his nest, comparing it to his home in the woods.
