Walt Disney Records

Walt Disney Records is the music division of The Walt Disney Company. It was created in 1956 (under the name of Disneyland Records) to release the soundtrack albums of movies put out by the studio, as well as release original content. It released several cover albums of Sesame Street songs in the 1970s. Bob McGrath also recorded an album for the label during this period.

In 2004, with the purchase of The Muppets, Walt Disney Records became the official home for all Muppet music CDs and downloads. The company has released new and classic Muppet soundtracks, compilation albums, and original material.
