Walterrauffer

Walt Rauffer (d. October 17, 2010) was a longtime technical advisor for Sesame Street, recieving onscreen credit from seasons 3 through 13. During the 1970s, he worked as the technical manager for all in-house technical facilities.

"The Man Behind the Racks" began working as a television engineer in the 1950s. Shortly after graduating from the RCA institute with a degree in electrical engineering, he worked for the U.S. Army Signal Corp. In the 1960s, he designed the first handheld portable network TV camera.

Other credits include the game show Beat the Clock and the Sesame Workshop productions The Electric Company, Betcha Don't Know, 3-2-1 Contact, and the Sesame Place computer gallery.
