Melissa Manchester sang her 1978 hit single "We Don't Cry Out Loud", more commonly called "Don't Cry Out Loud", in episode 512 of The Muppet Show. She sang it in front of a black background, where she was accompanied by three full-body dancing clowns and a female Whatnot walking on a tightrope.
