Wes, short for Wesley Walker, is a young Muppet boy introduced in 2021 for Sesame Street’s "Coming Together" outreach initiative regarding racism. His first appearances include a pair of videos for the Sesame Street in Communities "Racial Justice" topic, including the music video "I Am Somebody (Giant)."
Wes is described in press reports as being five years old and loves to go to school and play pretend. He resides with his father Elijah and mother Naomi. The design of Wes was based off of Louis Henry Mitchell's son.[2]
His first appearance on the show proper was a brief cameo at the beginning of Episode 5321.
