"Wet Paint" is a Sesame Street song performed by David about the words "WET PAINT."
The song is set in a park area, as David sings about avoiding wet paint. Gordon and Maria don't listen, getting paint on themselves as they sit on a bench and lean on a lamppost (respectively). As David brings the song to a close, he removes a "WET PAINT" sign from a fence, knocking a can of paint on his head.
The album version of the song features Northern Calloway performing the song as a fictional Jamaican man (credited as "Calypso Calloway," an in-joke take on his last name), who claims the song is from his native Jamaica, Long Island.
