"When I Listen" is a Sesame Street song sung by Kermit the Frog.
Kermit sings about the lovely, quiet sounds that you can hear outside at night, including a bullfrog ("Hi, Uncle Ben"), a hoot owl and a mockingbird. At the end of the sketch, he starts to hear louder and more raucous sounds, and he ends up surrounded by a cat, a dog, a bear, and a tiger.
ASCAP work ID 531902415 catalogues the song as "When I Listen" with an alternate title of "(When I Listen) In the Quiet of the Evening" while Sesame Street scripts refer to the insert simply as "In the Quiet of the Evening".
