"When the River Meets the Sea" is sung by Alice and Emmet Otter in Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, in remembrance of Pa. The song is reprised at the end of the special with the addition of Charlie, Harvey, and Wendell.
In the original book, the song is referred to as "Downstream Where the River Meets the Sea" and was Pa's favorite hymn.
John Denver and Robin the Frog performed the song on the album A Christmas Together.
The song was also performed as part of the memorial service for Jim Henson, being performed by Jerry Nelson and Louise Gold.
The song is performed again by Robin, Elmo, Kermit, Gonzo, Rowlf, Sal and Paul Williams during the closing medley on The Muppet Show Live.
Justin Bohon (Emmet) and Kathy Fitzgerald (Alice) performed the song for the benefit Rosie's Broadway Extravaganza.
Kermit and Robin performed the song with Jimmy Fallon on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on December 23, 2011.
