Whitney Lee Savage (1928-1998)[1] was an animator who created inserts for Sesame Street during the 1970s.[2] His inserts have included a series of shorts where a creature called "The It" explains to two kids how things work (with his son, Adam Savage, providing the voice of the boy, Heathcliff). Savage also produced a series of animated segments in which a disembodied hand draws various landscapes.
