William Dear is a Canadian-born director, writer, and producer of both small and large-screen productions. Some of his memorable credits include Angels in the Outfield (1994) which he directed, and Harry and the Hendersons (1987), which he directed, wrote, and produced.

In 1991, Dear directed the the pilot episode of the Jim Henson Company series Dinosaurs, which would go on to become the series debut episode The Mighty Megalosaurus.

Currently, Dear is attached to The Sandlot 3 as director.
