"You and Me Against the World" was the first song written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher, who would go on to collaborate on The Muppet Movie. It was a Top 40 hit for Helen Reddy in 1974 and reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September of that year.
Reddy reprised the song with Kermit the Frog in episode 313 of The Muppet Show.
Johnny Fiama croons this tune to Mama Fiama in episode 212 of Muppets Tonight after they reminisce over a family photo album.
